Savvy Landlord Academy

I love what I do from the very bottom of my heart! I help people build wealth through real estate, and it has been quite an interesting journey for me. I never stop learning and gain more knowledge with every renter I place in a home, every lease I write, and every property I purchase and manage.

Since 2005, I’ve guided many clients in becoming seasoned investors, helped many of them put kids through college, and led some into a comfortable retirement with sufficient income. I spent four years managing properties for others, which started with a simple question from one of my military clients who got deployed and asked for help managing a couple of his buildings. By the end of that year, rumors spread that I was doing property management, so I ended up gaining property management accounts in a few counties. I learned a ton during those four years, and oh boy, I barely slept! I learned what to do and not to do, the importance of staying informed of local and federal laws regarding tenancy and changes in such laws. Most importantly, I’ve mastered my job as a landlord – managing my own properties was like getting a Master’s Degree in Property Management!

I bought my very first property in 2006, and then another rental and some more, sold some, kept others, did a 1031 exchange, and am gearing up to buy more. I am very particular about doing my homework when it comes to selecting the right investment property and evaluating the remodeling costs. I love negotiating, and when the home is to be rented, I really enjoy setting records for what properties in its vicinity can rent for. I have set many records in local areas for the highest rented properties, which makes my landlord clients very, very happy.

Long story short – I actually enjoy being a landlord. One of my favorite contractors jok is: “Rentals do come with 3 Ts: Tenants, Toilets, and Turnovers.” I believe if wise purchased and managed well, properties will only continue to increase in value and, o day, will serve as a sufficient income in retirement and a foundation for generation wealth.
